A regeneration scheme jointly funded by British Waterways and Nottingham Regeneration Ltd has recently renovated the lock and the Trent riverside. In the background are the houses of Quayside Close and the former Turney Brothers leather factory, now the award-winning Turney Court flats. Good job this area is no longer scented by the pong of the Meadow Lane glue factory, as it was when I was young.
