Thames Valley Police Information

Thames Valley Police is the largest non-metropolitan police force in England and Wales. We police the counties of Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire, and serve a diverse population of more than two million, plus six million visitors who come to Thames Valley each year. We patrol 196 miles of motorway - more than any other British police force. The Thames Valley Police force area is divided into 12 Local Policing Areas (LPAs). Farnham, Baylis and Stoke Neighbourhood

Every neighbourhood in Thames Valley has a dedicated Neighbourhood Policing team.

Neighbourhood Policing teams can be contacted via 101, the Thames Valley Police non-emergency number. Always call 999 in an emergency.

Neighbourhood Policing teams…
  • Are led by senior police officers and include police community support officers (PCSOs), often together with volunteer police officers, volunteers and partners.
  • May serve one or several neighbourhoods.
  • Work with local people and partners to identify, tackle and prevent local, low-level crime, anti-social behaviour, and any ongoing concerns.
  • Provide you with a visible, accessible and accountable police service and aim to make your neighbourhood safer.
  • Have been present in every Thames Valley neighbourhood since 1 April 2008.
  • Focus all of their efforts on their dedicated neighbourhoods, building relationships with local people.
Neighbourhood Policing…
  • Needs you to tell us about the issues that concern you in your area.
  • Has transformed policing at a local level, to meet the needs of local communities.
  • Is known as ‘Safer Neighbourhoods’ in Milton Keynes.

Have Your Say logo From the start of 2010, Thames Valley Police extended its neighbourhood consultation by introducing a wider range of publicised opportunities to meet neighbourhood teams.

We will provide open monthly meetings to allow the public to influence our priorities. These meetings will be branded as Have Your Say opportunities, and in many cases will be held in conjunction with partners.

Once local priorities have been identified, a broader ‘toolkit’ of problem-solving tactics is being made available to ensure crime and anti-social behaviour is tackled effectively.

Across the Thames Valley area, there are many successful Neighbourhood Action Groups which will continue to deliver local problem solving, but the introduction of Have Your Say meetings will allow neighbourhood teams to identify more quickly those specific local priorities that need attention.

Thames Valley Police views the introduction of Have Your Say meetings as a positive step in tackling issues that matter most to the public. I welcome your support and engagement in this endeavour.

Priorities

1 Jun 2023

Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) in Baylis Park

Response (28 Jun 2023)

Identified through engagement with community groups as a priority.
We've increased patrols around school times to ensure the park and surrounding areas are safe for young people, as well as during the evenings.
We conducted licensing checks at all local Off-Licence premises to ensure alcohol was not being sold to underage or intoxicated people.
We've conducted ‘Have Your Say’ meetings within the park to share progress and seek feedback from the community.
We've attended a number of community events ensuring we are visible and available to speak with local residents and business owners regarding any concerns.

1 Jun 2023

Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) Farnham Road

Response (28 Jun 2023)

We have seen an increase in reports relating to motorbikes being driven in an anti-social manner in this area with targeted patrols.
When patrolling the area the team has identified beggars approaching people in an aggressive manner-this has been dealt with robustly and long term support has been offered via partner agencies.
‘Have Your Say’ meetings with officers to speak to community can be found on ‘meeting and events’ tab.

1 Jan 2024

Anti-social behaviour (ASB) at THE CENTRE

Response (16 Jan 2024)

We have seen an increase in reports of vehicles being driven in an anti-social manner in THE CENTRE carpark. PCSOs and Officers have increased patrols in the area to identify any one using their vehicle in an anti-social manner.
We have been working with partner agencies and SLOUGH Borough Council to plan a long-term solution that would help prevent this in the future. In the meantime, we will continue to complete High Visibility patrols and continue to engage with people in the car park.

1 Jan 2024

Theft from motor vehicles/ suspicious people- Manor Park
We have seen an increase in people reporting suspicious people in the area. Recently we have received a number of reports of suspicious people ‘looking into cars’ and ‘trying door handles.’

Response (16 Jan 2024)

Due to the increase in reports, we have been completing patrols in identified targeted areas and engaging with people on the streets. Through CCTV enquiries, an offender has been identified and arrested in relation to vehicle crimes. We will continue to complete patrols in the area to deter any further suspicious activity.
