Cycle route 49 runs between a section of the former Monmouthshire & Brecon canal and Broadweir Road. The course of the former canal is very fragmentary in this area : several hundred metres of the former canal north of this point disappeared on the construction of Cwmbran Drive (A4051). The large notice on the right catalogues all the things you mustn't do while using the cycle route/footpath. This includes the intriguing "conduct prohibitive to other users" which is not further defined.
