This station was opened in 1912 by the London & North Western Railway in conjunction with the provision of additional tracks (known variously as the 'New Line' and subsequently as the 'Watford D C Line' work on which had begun in 1909) to boost suburban capacity between London and Watford. Kenton is served today by both Bakerloo Line tube trains and London Overground.
