A Routemaster rests before returning to Catford Garage on the 47 route in 1976. This seems to be a short working as the route ran between Shoreditch and Farnborough at this time. On the left is Druid Street, whilst the small road on the right is Weavers Lane. Behind the bus is an old Morris LD van of the Royal Mail - probably in its last years of service. The tower block just visible above the Routemaster bus is Southwark Towers and was demolished in 2008-09 to make way for a new development called The Shard. Please see Image for a 2010 view of Tooley Street in which the under construction building can be seen rising above the apartment blocks.
