This is Coal Tax Post no 206 on the list linked to below. See Image for context. This particular type of Coal Tax Post, of granite obelisk design, dates from before the 1861 Act - posts of this design were installed on the side of railways, as opposed to the more common pillar design, installed more widely near roads and tracks following the 1861 Act (see Image for an example). This particular example is at a slight angle (the photo is straight). Note the City of London coat of arms on the face.
