Sheep Street, Petersfield

One of the oldest and most picturesque streets in Petersfield, houses here date from the 16th C. onwards. The early prosperity of Petersfield was based on wool, which probably explains the name Sheep Street. This picture is looking towards the market square from The Spain, which is where the wealthy Spanish wool merchants lived.
