A nearby information board shows a photograph of 1900 of the newly built house and shop of William Lea (Junior), who is seen standing outside the wide through-passage door with his wife and child. His house was on the left, where the Spice Merchant shop is now, and the shop on the right has changed little during the 20C. See Image for the datestone.
