One of London's main arteries to the northwesstern suburbs, the A41 has its usual long tailback on the hill through Hendon Central. This is caused by the traffic lights at the junction with the A504, which carries quite a volume of cross town traffic. Both sides of the road are lined with shops, above which are houses.
