The canals in central Birmingham have been smartened up and developed in recent years in order to make them attractive and welcoming to use, live by and trade by. Here at Gas Street Basin is where the Worcester and Birmingham Canal terminated when it was built in the early 1790s. Any images of the basin before the 1990s will be welcomed on this website.
