Wrightington Hall, Wrightington Hospital

Part of the Wrightington, Wigan & Leigh Health Trust. It was opened in 1932 as a Tuberculosis Hospital, out in the country for fresh air and isolation. In the 1960s it became famous for pioneering hip replacement operations, which are still carried out there.
