The railway bridge carries the Trent Valley section of the West Coast Main Line between Rugeley Trent Valley and Stafford stations. The bollards on the towpath are for tying up in preparation for the use of Colwich Lock. To the right of the bridge, the line carries on up the Trent Valley towards Stone.
