New buildings opened in September 2007, housing the Schools of Building Design, Business and Law. The development has picked up many awards including ‘North East Landmark of the Year’ highlighting building concept, design and construction. It also won the national 'Constructing Excellence Award'; an award for landscaping design; Low Carbon New Build Project of the Year, and the prestigious Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors ‘Project of the Year’ in 2008. http://www.worldbuildingsdirectory.com/project.cfm?id=771
