Part of the new flood defences at Marsh Meadow, Cookham-on-Thames - in The Wind in the Willows this was one of Toad's favourite places. To the far left of the photograph can be seen one of the new bunds: the excavation for the soil has created this new pond. In the foreground is Strande Ditch (aka Strand Stream). There had been talk of building a car park here but the local residents fought the application successfully.
