Watford: The Grove

This lake is now part of the landscaped golf course at The Grove, on the north side of the access road. However a glance at the 1883 Ordnance Survey map shows that it was once part of a much larger lake that stretched continuously down to Grove Mill, with the access road passing over it by a bridge, rather than today's embankment. On the first day of the 2010s a thin sheet of ice still covers the northern end.
