The colourful 'round houses' are part of the Hermanus leisure complex, while the lighthouse (now quite a distance inshore) is disused - Kelly's Directory of Norfolk 1904 states "The lighthouse here, situated on elevated ground, is nearly 70 feet in height and is illuminated by a prismatic reflector."
