Looking south, downstream of the River Hull at high tide. High tide allows larger vessels to navigate upstream. As they do so numerous bridges have to be raised causing traffic congestion. The picture shows quite clearly that the area is an aging industrial area. The area just to the west of the photograph used to flood quite regularly until the tidal barrier further south of this picture was constructed.
