The tidy, terraced streets in this part of Saltwell conceal some unexpected scenes. Here's a fine example of a mature palm tree flourishing, and flowering, in a tiny front garden. The plant is probably a Cabbage Palm (Cordyline australis), not a true palm but a member of the Agave family. Said to be hardy in the UK down to -7 degrees C.
