Katesbridge Station opened in 1880 as an intermediate station on the Knockmore Jct to Castlewellan Great Northern Railway (Ireland) line. It closed, with the rest of the line south of Banbridge, in May 1955. The trackbed ran between the goods shed (now a barn) and the red brick house (this is likely a replacement dwelling) - the hedge marks it out quite well. The view would have been towards Banbridge.
