There are four footpaths that meet in front of the house, and the walker may be surprised to see a sign on one of the outbuildings saying "Car park", as there is little obvious reason here for visitors. A closer look reveals that this is the home of Deepdale off-road, who offer training for 4-wheel drive vehicles, trailer towing and quad bikes on some quite rough terrain leading down to Deepdale. This does mean that the walker needs to be alert for landrovers being driven downhill towards them by people who may not yet have learnt to stop !
