The crossing of Eller Beck at Rutherford is unusual in that it has both a metalled track and a parallel footbridge. The track runs low over the stream bed which flows through a small passage, and must often flood to become a ford. The footbridge is well above the water and will keep the walker's feet dry even when the beck is in spate.
