This is Tiptree Heath; it is an SSSI and registered common. When the photo was taken it was managed by Tiptree Parish Council. Now management has passed to Essex Wildlife Trust https://www.essexwt.org.uk/nature-reserves/tiptree-heath and the Friends of Tiptree Heath. It is an important wildlife area for both plants and animals. Tiptree Heath is well worth a visit. Take a look at the things I saw in an hour and a half's visit at http://www.geograph.org.uk/search.php?i=34354754 or continue on a virtual tour of Wildlife Trust Reserves in Essex by visiting Image
