Walking a little further along towards Tower Bridge on Tower Bridge Approach, this great contrast of old and new can be seen. In the foreground, we have one of the walls of the Tower of London, dating back to Roman times, and the building at 30 St Mary Axe (aka 'The Gherkin'). The Gherkin is in square TQ3381, but as Geograph prefers to have the subject location in the same square as the photographer, I have placed the subject position as close I could to the Gherkin's location at the top edge of TQ3380.
