At the junction of Newton (to the left) and Golborne Roads, on a triangular green South of the parish church; a stone seat, or severely sunken mounting block; the inscription reads "TRAVELLERS REST. / ... LOOK TOWARDS THY SANCTUARY WHILST I AM HERE. / 1860".
