Looking north on the northbound platform. Five Ways Station existed first between 1884 and 1944 when it was on a suburban branch line. In 1978 it reopened and became part of the Birmingham Cross City route. There was also a line to the Central Goods Station here which is on the right behind the southbound platform. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Five_Ways_railway_station
