This plaque situated in the Borough near the war memorial was erected on the 60th anniversary of the D-Day landings. It says: "Erected by the people of Yeovil in grateful commemoration of the American troops who were stationed in and around our town prior to the D-Day landings on 6th June 1944, many of whom sacrificed their lives in the cause of freedom. 6 June 2004"
