The name of the field according to the 1839 tithe map though today it has amalgamated with Ashton Meadow to the south to become one larger field. The hedge on the left marks the southern boundary of The Broyle, a former medieval deer park and common that was enclosed in 1767. To the right is Arches Farm which existed prior to enclosure and was probably sited there to use the common.
