Demolition of the "Athletic Stores", Belfast

Built in 1896 to a design by WJW Roome, the Athletic Stores (the dark building above the buses), at the corner of Wellington Place and Queen Street, was one of two proper sports shops in central Belfast. The premises were badly damaged by a fire bomb and lay vacant before (in this photo) being demolished. The business moved just around the corner to Queen Street Image Image shows the replacement.
