This most interesting photograph conveys something of the atmosphere of this gridsquare: with a varied and lively multi-ethnic population, it is mainly residential with some open space near the centre of the square. Here we see the Lord Derby public house, behind which the white building is the Plumstead Radical Club. To the right just out of the picture is Plumstead station, while the long bus route 53 from Central London also terminates here.
