It seems that no pubs are safe from closure any more. This one on the High Street is up for sale at auction, with a guide price of £350,000 in July 2009, and with planning permission to convert it into a residential property. The Burdett family owned the local manor in the 19th and 20th centuries, and Burdett Street is to the right.
