One consolation for having to abandon footpath 114/13/1 as it became submerged beneath the wandering waters of the Nanquidno stream, and consequently missing my bus at St Just, was being surrounded by fine royal ferns (Osmunda regalis); there's something magnificently primeval about this plant. I assumed that my (1990s) map was out-of-date, but the path proves to still follow this course in 2009, and is classified as gold. Oh, and there's no mobile signal here, either!
