Marked as 'Low Stead' on the OS 1:50000 map, Lowsteads Farm is half-a-mile south of Longhoughton village. The family-run mixed farm occupies 312 acres; about 100 acres are arable (wheat and barley) and the remaining 200 acres support cattle and sheep. Two of the farm cottages are let out as self-catering holiday accommodation. The gated lane through the farm leads to an area of dunes and two small beaches.
