The soil looks stony but that does not mean it is unproductive with the right treatment, the stones can help to drain the soil in wet weather. On the skyline in the distance to the right is the northern end of Lansdown, the Battle of Lansdown took place close by in 1643. To the left the line of trees marks Freezing Hill Image
