Studying old maps reveals that this road was once part of the network of small roads that interconnected local farms. This stretch between two farms on the road is no longer maintained as access to the farms on either side is easier from the opposite end of the road. Technically the road is still passable but these days only 4x4 vehicles should probably attempt it!
