This water wheel, in course of restoration, is in its original location within Lumb Mill, now used as a motor garage and workshop. The mill was converted to steam power before the 2nd world war. But in the bitter winter of 1947 when Coal supplies were difficult to obtain, the wheel was brought back into use, and the mill returned to water power until 1952.
