Originally "The Castle", but renamed "The Priory" in around 2004. The building dates from the early 19th century and is locally listed. It is first recorded as a pub in 1857, prior to which it was a fishmongers or butchers shop. It was the existence of this pub that caused Lady Henry Somerset, a strong advocate of the temperance movement, to have in 1893 the main entrance to her house, Reigate Priory, moved from Bell Street, opposite here, to the other side of the house so that access would instead be from Park Lane, to the west of the house.
