Palm or Passion Sunday is known in the Welsh-speaking districts as Sul y Blodau (Flowers' Sunday), for on this day it has been the custom since at least the Middle Ages to decorate the graves in the churchyards with beautiful and fanciful flower arrangements as a preparation for Easter.
