Queen Elizabeth's School opened in 1561 close to St Peter's Parish Church. In 1708, it moved to the large stone building next to St Peter's now known as the Parish Centre. The new Queen Elizabeth's School began in September 1993 but was given an official opening by Queen Elizabeth II in March 1997.Queen
