Drinking fountain at the New Western International Market

Originally the Heston drinking fountain, donated in 1877 by Mrs Wheeler, the widow of Samuel Wheeler esq. Erected by the Metropolitan Drinking Fountain and Cattle Trough Association. It has now been relocated to the new Western International Market, a wholesale fruit, vegetable and flower market, which opened on Monday 7th July 2008. The plaque in the niche: refers to the market's previous location in Heston: "London Borough of Hounslow Western International Market. This market was officially opened on Tuesday 18 June 1974 by the mayor of the London Borough of Hounslow/Councillor Ray James"
