The historic centre of West Parley, now conservation area & rural backwater http://www.dorsetforyou.com/media/pdf/m/q/SPG14_West_Parley_Conservation_Area.pdf. Since the building of the A347 in the 1910s, the economic centre has moved to Parley Cross Image, 1km further North. The conservation area contains several fine buildings, mostly not immediately visible from the road; pity there are not more car-parking facilities off road.
