Many village halls in this area were built around this time. The sense of community was strong with many types of activities taking place. Dances, whist drives, WI's, amateur dramatics, polling stations and visiting newsreel and film shows. The situation is entirely different now with more choice for entertainment. Many village halls struggle to be used, coupled with increased costs from regulation, insurance and upkeep the future is bleak and some will be forced to close. Image
