Acquired by the council in 1920 it was used as landfill site for many years part of which was levelled out into the playing pictures seen here. The all weather astro-turf pitch was laid out in 2007 and was recently used for a first class rugby match. The wood in the distance is Piddingworth Plantation next to the road to Ditchling.
