The tower wins praise from architects and is said to be the finest outside Somerset. Monuments in the north chapel were painted by Elizabeth Creed. She was a noted painter and was a cousin of John Dryden on her father's side and a cousin of Pepys on her mother's. She frequently comes into Pepys' Diary.
