It looks like children – maybe adults too! – have had some fun putting their footprints into the ice that has failed to thaw in this gutter. Banks Road, southbound, and Panorama Road, northbound, create a one-way system around the peninsula. In Banks Road, the left-hand lane (right as we look) is for traffic wanting the ferry, while the other lane is for traffic going back round. In the summer months, the ferry queue can be long with queues, if the road is stationary right up to the top, of about ¾ hour.
