Though still used by the Police for 'support' activities this is no longer a manned station available to meet the immediate needs of the public. Currently there is much speculation as to how the Police may best serve the local community. Despite noises to the contrary, it is inevitable that even the limited service currently provided will be diminished as the Police service turns to 'neighbourhood policing'. A term in contradiction of the service which the public has come to expect. Community Support Officers will be seen on the streets when available and other policing needs met by a response service - providing they are not providing their 'service' elsewhere!.
