Somerton Road connects the villages of Martham and West Somerton. The very large solitary wind turbine seen in the background is located at Somerton Wind Park - a single turbine wind farm with an output of 1.8 megawatts. The wind turbine is one of a new generation of direct drive, variable speed wind turbines, brought to the UK by Ecotricity and was installed at West Somerton in July 2000.
