New Tredegar industrial estate

New Tredegar (foreground) and Brithdir (on the far side of the valley) were built to house workers for the now-closed Elliot colliery. The small group of industrial units, employing only a handful of people, are no more than a token replacement: almost everyone here has to commute down the valley to work.
