This is junction 43 on the northbound carriageway of the M6. Coming off the motorway here takes you onto the A6. It's a west [left] turn for Carlisle and east for Hexham and on to Newcastle. After a few miles northwards on the motorway, one crosses the English/ Scottish boundary.
