When our Victorian forebears designed The Parade in Leamington Spa they included service roads at the rear on either side so that trade and delivery people would not have to mingle with those using the front doors on The Parade. This is Tavistock Street to the east of the upper parade, and in more recent times a multi-storey car park was built in an attempt to keep traffic away from The Parade whilst providing easy access for pedestrians by means of the footbridge visible in the picture.
