After the recent wet weather a large pool of water has accumulated in this field of stubble - its surface is covered with a thin sheet of ice. The straw bales seen in the background have been stacked at the highest point, in the corner of the field, so as not to get waterlogged. This view was taken from a field beside the public footpath which starts at Smee Lane > http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/919906 and leads to the A47, further to the south > http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1068458 - http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1068463.
